About
1. About TalkToMeInKorean
TalkToMeInKorean is a website and community where learning Korean may not be magically easy, but is fun and exciting. Language learning can be boring, challenging, and sometimes frustrating, especially when there are not enough motivating or fun factors. Learning a new language can be a lot of fun when you are a part of a welcoming and encouraging community with teachers and other learners. We hope that TalkToMeInKorean is just that; a community that motivates and nurtures learners to develop their language skills in fun and innovative ways.
2. How to use our lessons
Our audio and video lessons are available for download through our podcast feed. You can also find our podcasts on iTunes by typing “talktomeinkorean” into the search box.
If you are just starting to learn the language, you can start from Level 1 Lesson 1 right here.
Learning with the regular audio lessons
1. Listen to the mp3 audio files and read the accompanying PDF lesson notes.
2. After you finish one lesson, go on to the next one to learn more!
3. For every ten lessons, there are workbooks available to test what you have learned.
Learning with Iyagi lessons
1. Iyagi lessons are recordings of Korean conversations, at natural speed, about various topics.
2. Read the attached PDF transcript after or while you listen to the audio recordings.
Learning with other video lessons
It is in our daily routine to come up with interesting video ideas for our listeners. We make at least one video lesson per week, and you can find all our video on our YouTube channel.
3. Advertising on TalkToMeInKorean
If you are interested in advertising your business or service on TalkToMeInKorean, please contact g9languages@gmail.com.
4. How to use our store
Most of our learning material is available for free, but we also have a store section (MyKoreanStore.com) where you can purchase audiobooks and other types of supplemental learning material. We will keep updating the store with interesting learning material with rather specific purposes. We will also add other products such as t-shirts and stationery to our store in the future.
Using our store is the best way to support our site and help us keep producing the free lessons.
5. Meeting in person & mailing address
We communicate with the majority of our listeners online through comments, Twitter, and Facebook. However, we love meeting our listeners in person when they travel to Seoul, South Korea. You can meet the TalkToMeInKorean staff at LanguageCast meet-ups, which are hosted by the same staff as TalkToMeInKorean (Hyunwoo, Kyeong-eun, Seokjin, and Hyeonjeong). If you are interested in meeting the teachers in person, please visit http://meetup.com/languagecast to find out more information about how to join LanguageCast.
