In this lesson we are introducing how to make sentences in the present progressive form, such as “I’m eating.” “I’m studying.” and “I’m driving.” The basic construction in the present tense is VERB STEM + -고 있어요 [-go i-sseo-yo], and you can find out how to say this in the past tense and the future tense as well by listening to the lesson. Be sure to answer the quiz at the end of the lesson as well!

Can you shorten the ‘go itda’ form any more?
coz I watch some dramas that when the translation says that” I am doing something ” I don’t hear any ‘itda’ at the back….

Instead of saying the whole” hago itseulgeoyeyo” can you perhaps say ”hago” in banmal form??

No, I can not shorten the expression any more.

The expression you wrote is “하고 있을 거예요”. If I make it in casual expression, it will be “하고 있을 거야”. Only the part after verb stem is changed, but I can not change the “하고” in casual form.
어제 이시간에, 점심 먹고 있었어요.
이시간에 > 이 시간에 (spacing)

Hey ppl,i have a question!
In the example :강의가 지루해서 꾸벅꾸벅 졸고 있어요,(1) why is it 지루해서 (ji-ru-hae-seo).shdnt it be haeyo? (2) why is it jol-go 졸고?

Because they giving examples with particles and grammar rules they didn’t yet talk about.
서 is like ‘so’ or ‘and’ when events are connected in order one after another. “the lecture is boring, so I fell asleep.”
This like 그래세. Except that 서 make one sentence, instead linking two.
강의가 지루해요. 그래서 꾸벅꾸벅 졸고 있어요
Would be more proper for this lesson.
졸고 있어요 they talked about this conjugation in this lesson… -고 있다 is to make present progressive form of verb.

Hello! You’ve advised listeners in this lesson not to use the word “neo” and also not to use “tangsin,” so… how do we say “you”?
In written Korean you can say 당신 or 너, but in spoken you say excuse me: 저기요 or 실레합니다, and you question/sentence…
너 can be also used with close friends, as far as I know.
Otherwise you say person name and 씨, or person name and 선생님, like you talking in 3rd person.
Or you ask the name: 저기요, 이름이 뭐예요? 잊었어요

저는 언제 한국어 배울 거예요? Is the correct sentence to use in this case. The other sentence would of been correct if you were wanting to know ” when you would be studying Korean?”. The verb 공부하다 means “to study” so in this case you should use the verb 배우다 which means “to learn” and when making 배우다 into future tense you just add ᄅ under 우 and add 거예요 so in other words drop 다 and add ᄅ+거예요… hope this helps
