Learn Korean Words with K-Pop – 썸(Some) – Junggigo and Soyu from SISTAR ft. Lil Boi of Geeks

Hello everyone! How has your day been?

The song for today’s lesson in learning Korean words from K-pop is…썸(Some) by Junggigo and Soyu from girl group SISTAR, featuring Lil Boi from Geeks!

The song was a big hit in Korea when it was released, and I heard it playing on the streets almost everywhere I went in Seoul during the period that it was promoted – it was THAT popular.

The word ‘썸’ is used colloquially to describe the complicated love relations between a man and a woman. ‘썸’ is a shortened form of ‘썸씽’(something), which kind of describes the vague and murky relationship between a man and a woman that are NOT a couple, but seem to be slightly more than friends.

Behind you, many others are also gathered around cardboard boxes, talking and laughing with their friends.

This is a typical university school festival in Korea, also known as ‘대동제’ (Daedongjae).
