Rika Sterling (Intern)

Hey everyone! My name is Rika Sterling and I’m from Germany. I was born and raised in Berlin but I have an American father and spent one year in France when I was 16. I was lucky to grow up bilingual and learn a third language through my year abroad. Now in university I decided I wanted to get more experiences outside of Germany. That’s how I came to Korea. I will be here for one year as an exchange student and I am one of the new interns at TalkToMeInKorean. I feel very lucky to be part of the team. My dream would be to speak Korean fluently one day, so like all of you guys I will be studying lots!

    Hi Rika

Do you know how/where i could get a document approx 200 words translated form English to Korean ASAP?

    Thanks

  • Autumn

    Hi Rika! =))

    • Rika

      Hii! :)

    Anyonghaseyo Rika-sshi,
I was wondering if you could briefly explain what your responsibilities as an intern are. I think a lot of people would be interested (for one my niece, a teenager who loves all things Asian).
By the way, with your language background (including your good English), I’m sure you’ll be fluent in Korean very soon!

    • Rika

      Hello!
I help edit videos, correct English sentences and proof-read sometimes. I actually do lots of different things. :) Thank you for your confidence in my Korean skills! I will do my best to reach that goal. :D
Greetings to your niece as well.
      Rika

  • Revilio

Hello!, I’m not that good at korean yet, but do have fun here! ^_^

  • Vero Gómez

    Hi Rika,

I was wondering… In which university and what are you studying in Korea? Also, what did you need to be an intern for TTMIK?

I also dream with speaking Korean fluently and I’m thinking to attend a language school once I’m back in Mexico next autumn, but for now I’m an exchange student in Brazil. How is the exchange experience in Korea?

    I hope you’re havind a great time there! :)

    • Rika

      Hey Véro!
I am currently attending Yonsei University. For the TTMIK Internship I needed a love for languages and it helped that I had some video-editing skills. :)
Wow, you’re also an exchange student? That must be lots of fun. I am having an amazing time here in Korea. I feel like I don’t really want to leave any time soon. ㅋㅋ
      Enjoy your time in Brazil!!

    Hello Rika,
you are such a cutie dear !!!

  • Jochen

    Hey Rika,
I guess you’re having a lot of fun in Korea :)
Do people behave different towards you, if you say that you are from Germany (if their initially thought was that you are from USA)?
Are you able to watch Geman TV?
    Greetings from Germany
    Jochen

    • Rika

      Hey Jochen!
Yes I am, thank you! =D
No, they don’t really behave differently when they find out I’m German. Sometimes they think I might be Russian though…^^ I could watch it online I think, but I haven’t been watching any German TV for a while.
      Greetings from Seoul!
