  1. Great video!
My little sister learned his first words in Korean because she was watching the video with me and also wanted to write korean for the first time. She copied what I had written. Maybe she wants to learn from now. (http://twitpic.com/vqyer)

    • Wow ! Is that what she wrote herself? That’s very good!! XD Tell her that she has a talent!

    • Marta Ribes :)
Thanks a lot. I can’t see the video. I can see only the sign of “NOT Found”.
      ㅜ.ㅜ 새해 복 많이 받으세요. ^^

    • Oh,
      Kyeong-eun Choi, sorry!!
Is not a video is a picture: http://twitpic.com/vqyer
The “)” makes the link doesn’t work, I wrote again. *^^*
¡Feliz año nuevo! (새해 복 많이 받으세요!)

And Hyunwoo, my sister thanks you. ^_^

English correction for: My little sister learned his first words in Korean because she was watching the video with me and also wanted to write korean for the first time.

“My little sister learned her first words…”

The third page of the PDF is the same as the third page of the previous PDF (Advanced Interview #1). Is that intentional? Just asking because it doesn’t seem to be related to the actual content.

Anyway, thanks for the video, 고마워요.
그럼, 새해 복 많이 받으세요! Bon any!

    Hello everyone,

I find that breaking down the expressions is very useful. Most of the time I get what my Korean friends tell me when they use this type of usual expressions thanks to the context u__u but then again I don’t really know what it means in detail.
Oh and I try not to make the following rotten play on words but in Korean when you move to a “new house” you possibly will be living in a “bird nest”… mmmok I’m running away out of shame lol ^^
Thanks again for the lesson and 새해 복 많이 받으세요!

    • Miso_Fr :)
Thank you for watching this video.
I’m really happy to hear that bereaking down the expressions is useful to you.

Wow I didn’t understand at first. hahaha
So “a new house ” is “새 집(sae jip)” in Korean and also “a bird” is “새(sae)” in Korean. And “a nest” is a place where a bird lives. Actually it’s “둥지(dungji)” in Korean so it’s “새 둥지(sae dungji)”. But we often call it “새 집(sae jip)”, a bird’s house in Korean.

I wanted to share this joke all together so I try to expalin it. XD
감사합니다. 새해 복 많이 받으세요. :)

  13. Josias says:

Thanks very much for this lesson!!!

  14. Thanks for this lesson.

I had a hard time remembering 올해 because I was always confused with 년 (I once wrote this year as 이년 – not a very good one… ㅠㅠ).

Last January I was able to memorize this new year greeting, but I didn’t really pay attention to the breakdown of the words. I know 새 as new, I didn’t pay attention to 해 (thinking it’s a grammar pattern), I know 많이 and the verb 받다.

Now because of this lesson, i think I will now always remember 올해. (plus 지난 해) ^^

  15. :) It’s still early for New Year’s Eve (2011) but I very much enjoyed this lesson. I am now finishing the first level of the audio lessons, but decided to have a look at the video ones and out of curiosity, opened the New Year file and it was very well explained. Thanks for that, guys! It’s really difficult to find a way to study Korean here in Bulgaria, that’s why I’m so grateful for your daily efforts!
Mr Hyunwoo Sun – you have an impeccable English pronunciation, how come?
Miss Choi – you have the cutest voice, I love the way you tease each other :)
it’s very pleasant to listen to your audio lessons. Keep up the great work!

Hyunwoo, Wow. I love how things are broken down. I am now ordering the writing book. I have several books now for all kinds of Korean writing and learning. Japanese takes up a lot of time for me, but I really want to learn Korean. Thank you for all your time and talent. Hyunwoo, I love how you speak English and explain different word combinations that can use the word parts. Your English is impeccable. Surely you must be a teacher because you do it so effortlessly, or you make us think you do!

  30. Jackie says:

안녕하세요!! This lesson was fun and super helpful!! 감사합니다!

I am learning about subject/object marking particles, and I noticed something…

In the sentence “한국 친구가 많이있어요” –”friend” is labeled as the subject. If the sentence is “I have a lot of Korean friends”, why is the subject “friend” instead of “I”? The next sentence was the same structure (I a lot of ), but it says, “텔레비전을 많이봐요” — so here it is like I would imagine…

Why is there a different structure for “한국 친구가 많이있어요”? Is the lit. translation something like “Korean friends are what I have a lot of”?

정말 정말 정말 감사합니다!!!! : )

  31. xxLOVERxx says:

I’m getting very good at Korean, my family (except my brother) is getting annoyed at me always listening to KPop! My brother and I absolutely love it! When my sister gets a little older I want to teach her Korean so that she and I can talk and no one in my family will know what we’re saying! :)

    감사합니다!

    xxLOVERxx and muh brodda!

  32. Ildi says:

    Hello all!

I started learning korean recently, and your site is a great help, thank you for it :)
At first I was only listening to the grammar lessons, and now I decided to catch up on the other posts as well. They are great, but is it just me, or some of the PDF-s disappeared? :)
So far it’s only this and the Korean food names video, and I can work them out, just letting you know.

    Thanks again!
    Ildi
