    I proud of you.

Now i may be able to understand some of the conversations between my jap class (everyone is korean but me, including the teacher lol).

I plan to go to japan next year to go to an intensive japanese language school but after that i would love to come to korea and meet you guys!!! maybe you guys might be interested in offering homestay opportunities? ;D i would love to be taught by you in person! ^_^

How do I say ” I DO” in korean?

    • Yangcohye says: April 22, 2012

      Kim Woo-sshi,
      Aniong!
If you mean “Yes” it would be “Neh/Deh”, which means “I agree”. It is covered in their Level1 lessons, so if you want a better explanaition, go there.

I’d like to have a website like yours to teach Brazilian Portuguese but there aren’t many people interested in learning Portuguese I guess. :/ Maybe after the 2014 Fifa World Cup, there will be, I hope so! Sometimes it’s hard to believe that all the material you provide us with is totally free. It’s such a well done material! You guys have done an amazing job! :) I just wish I had more spare time to take advantage from your lessons. I’d love to live in Korea some day! ^^

    • Knazzi says: March 14, 2012

(I’m very sorry but the computer that I am using right now does not support Hangeul characters and I really need help with some of the confirmations…
Please check my sentences below, (I did not omit any particles for study purposes, please check if they are OK)

    ExA. That is not a cat. >> Jeo-geu-neun ko-yang-i a-ni-e-yo.
    ExB. Taeyeon has friends. >> Tae-yeon-ssi-neun chin-gu-ga i-sseo-yo.
ExC. Oscar watches the Girls’ Generation. >> O-seu-ka-ssi-neun so-nyeo-si-dae-reul bwa-yo.
    ExD. Oscar waited for Taeyeon everyday. >> O-seu-ka-ssi-ga mae-il Tae-yeon-ssi-reul ki-da-ryeo-sseo-yo.
ExE. Girls’ Generation came from Korea. >> So-nyeo-si-dae-neun Han-guk-e-seo wa-sseo-yo.
ExF. Tiffany studies at the library. >> Ti-pa-ni-neun to-seo-gwan-e-seo kong-bu-hae-yo.
    ExG: Taeyeon did not remember the song. >> Tae-yeon-ssi-neun no-rae-reul ki-eok an hae-sseo-yo. / Tae-yeon-ssi-neun no-rae-reul ki-eok ha-ji a-na-sseo-yo.

I know particles in Korean would be omitted if the elements are already clear within the sentence. It would really help me a lot if my sentences would be checked.

I am really looking forward for a response.
    Thank you so much.

I have this question regarding the language itself, is Korean grammar the same with the Japanese grammar? I have noticed many similarities….

Sorry if it is not the right place to ask this question I didn’t know where to ask it.
I was wondering if in spoken Korean 에게 is used instead of 에게서?
Like for example is this sentence correct. 이 걸 친구에게 받았어요.

    • jinseokjin says: February 22, 2012

“에게” can mean “to” and “from” but “에게서” also can mean “from”.

선생님들, teach us -지 그래요. I heard it in dramas but i just can’t understand. 정말로 감사합니다.

    • jinseokjin says: March 2, 2012

Let me make some examples below:

이 음식 먹지 그래요. Why don’t you have this food?

이번 여행은 말레이시아에 가지 그래요. Why don’t you go to Malaysia for this trip?

We use “-지 그래요” when we recommend something to listener. I would say it is similar to “why don’t you….”.

    • Wan Imran says: March 3, 2012

How does the sentences sound? Are they having as well in question form?

  15. Mai Magdi says: February 25, 2012

I am going to attend TOPIK Elementary test from Malaysia.

Could you please give me some advise?
    Actually, I am quite confuse.
When I am writing an essay, should I use -다 / -요 for the ending?
For example, 오늘 너무 춥다. / 오늘 너무 추워요.

  17. Wan Imran says: March 3, 2012

What are the usages of -대로? 좀 얘기해주고 설명해주세요.. 진짜 감사합니다. ^_^

I recently came across an AMAZING method of learning languages called “Where Are Your Keys?”. Before this week, I knew a bunch of individual Korean words but could not make sentences. By using this new method, I was able to sit down with a Korean girl and pull language out of her. We spoke only in Korean for 5 hours and always in full sentences. We never translate anything, we only speak and do sign language. I also used this method last night to learn some Thai (which I had never even heard before). I highly recommend anyone learning or teaching languages to learn more about Where Are Your Keys. http://www.whereareyourkeys.org

Hello! First of all, thank you for this awesome site.

One question, I’m currently on level 2. What could one expect after completing Level 7 in terms of language proficiency? Perhaps B1 on the CEFR-scale?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_European_Framework_of_Reference_for_Languages

    What do you think?

  21. Angelia says: March 15, 2012

    Regards from Singapore!
I have 2 questions regarding kdrama phrases.
You know actors often say 갈게 in dramas when they are leaving, does that mean they are leaving now/first (as the eng subs often say) or does it mean ‘I’ll be there’ as google translate tells me? I’m confused and I know gtranslate is not 100%right. Or have I gotten (like writing in korean) the entire phrase wrong?
Also, how do you write the phrase that sounds like dainnida which suggests sth like ‘phew what a relief’ or ‘thank goodness’?
    Thanks!

    Hi,

I often buy items from gmarket, but usually the delivery man can’t speak english and i can’t understand hangeul.
Could you please translate (in romanize and hangeul form) the following words so i can answer or reply them:

    I am at work.
    I am not at home.
Leave the item/delivery in the security house(guard or watcher)
    I dont speak hangeul.
    Hello (when answering the call)

And you can also suggest some useful words that i can use.

    Thank you very much…

I have been studying Korean for more than 1 year now and I like it so much, especially, after I found your website, it helps me a lot. I study with Korean teacher and they, sometimes, cannot explain to me in both my mother language or English, so that I’m not so clear in some parts. Can you help me >< I'm confused with 서수사, it is really too difficult to understand whether I should use 첫째, 첫번째 or 제일. It's like a mess in my head now. Please explain to me

This is my first time visiting this website and I found it well organized. Well, before asking anything I need you to be neutral while answering my question. I mean don’t just start to appreciate your own courses, since everyone loves his/her own work. While I was searching sites and videos for learning Korean I came across different kind of courses which are somewhat informative and somewhat recreational. It doesn’t matter if there are some funny things or stuff while trying to teach us as long as there is a solid aim.
So my questions is : I need to learn Korean for Korean proficiency test, which is a requirement to get admission in a certain University in Korea. And I’m aiming for it. Instead of any tuition in my hometown(PAKISTAN) I’m more inclined towards online videos/data, because it’s a little comfortable. Will I be able to Learn Korean Language effective enough to get me a decent score in K-proficiency test? Any personal idea/advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I really want to learn Korean and a friend gave me this site. It’s been really helpful, but it’s only like my second time visiting. I’m just 12 and I really want someone to help me with this. It’s a difficult language, but it’s kinda easy to pronounce because my native language is Spanish. I grew up with a second language which is English, but I really want to learn Korean. I’ve only just started, but I know that I’ll come a long way. I give thanks to the teachers and creators of this site.

    Hello everyone!

제 이름은 이한별입니다. Okay so, I plan on going to Korea by myself this Fall (probably in late September or early October) and I was wondering if you guys could PLEASE help me with my travel plans. If at least one of you could help me, that would be awesome and I would very much appreciate it! I just want to go to Korea to sight see, improve my Korean, and experience Korean culture first hand. So could anyone please tell me where I could start planning my travel plans? I already know that I need my passport and if I want to stay past 30 days then I’ll need a visa. But I’m not exactly sure where I should stay and where I should go to go sight see. Again, I would very much appreciate anyone’s help! Thanks! ^^ Oh, and if you want to email me, you can email me at LeeHanbyul1994@gmail.com. ^^

    여러분 감사합니다!

*I live in America by the way. ^^*
