Hi everyone. My name is Hyojin An. I’m glad that I can help people who are enthusiastic to learn Korean. I, myself, am interested in learning foreign languages. I can speak English and Japanese, and I’m planning to learn some more. I believe learning language is more than just knowing how to say “I’m hungry.” or “Give me some food.” It is about understanding and being understood better in the culture that the specific language is spoken in. That is why I would love to think that I’m helping you not just pick up some vocabulary but also get closer to the Korean culture. And I hope for the whole process to be fun. I understand that learning language is a demanding job. It takes a lot of effort. I hope we can make it fun and keep you motivated. Have fun learning Korean with us!
안녕하세요. 안효진입니다. 반갑습니다. 한국어를 배우시려는 분들을 도울 수 있어서 기쁘네요. 저도 외국어 배우는 것을 좋아해요. 저는 영어와 일본어를 할 수 있고, 다른 언어도 더 배우고 싶어요. 언어를 배운다는 것은 “배고파” 라던가 “먹을 것 좀 줘.” 같은 것을 말하는 것보다 더 많은 것을 의미한다고 생각해요. 언어를 배움으로써 그 언어가 쓰이는 문화를 더 이해하고 또 그 문화 안의 사람들이 나를 더 이해할 수 있다고 생각해요. 그래서 제가 하는 일이 단순히 한국어를 배우려는 사람들로 하여금 단어 몇 개 외우는 것을 도와주는 것만이 아니라 한국 문화를 더 가까이 느낄 수 있도록 해 주는 것이라고 생각하고 싶어요. 그리고 모든 것이 다 재미있었으면 좋겠어요. 언어를 배우는 것은 어려운 일이에요. 많이 노력해야 하죠. 저희가 여러분이 공부하는 걸 재미있다고 느낄 수 있도록 하고, 또 저희를 통해서 여러분이 계속 공부를 하고 싶은 마음이 들었으면 좋겠습니다. 그럼 재미있게 공부하세요 :)

Nice to hear you also enjoy learning languages. I’ve just finished the level 1 of your Korean language program and I must say it has been very interesting and it motivates me to keep going on. I know you already have lots of friends and you must be pretty busy everyday to answer all the comments and mails you get everyday, however I want you to know I most appreciate what you guys do for us and I’d like to become useful to you as well; so…if you ever need someone to practice Spanish or you ever want to know more about Latin American culture, I’d be glad to give you a hand. annyeonghaseyo! im jen fr philippines i enrolled in a korean class a year ago and i begin to love your language and culture as well.. my seon saeng nim was great she’s also a korean.. im just having difficulty in constructing a long sentence and understand it also.. although i can read and write hangeul but that’s really my problem.. i think i need to learn other vocabulary words.. not just only the basics.. anyways..

I agree in what you said, it’s imposible to talk about languages and culture separeted, language is part of the culture and culture really affects language… is more than just learning words!!
